The updates on COVID-19 in Korea

 

As of 14 February, 2020, there have been 28 confirmed cases, 6,134 cases turned out to be negative, and 692 cases currently being tested. The contacts of the confirmed cases are 1,785 in total.

KCDC also provided the updates on the Korean nationals evacuated from Wuhan. The first group returned on 31 January were 368 people in total, two of which have already been confirmed positive of COVID-19. The rest were tested negative and will be released on 15 February. The second group returned on 1 February were 333 people whose specimens are currently being tested. Once confirmed negative, they will be released as well on 16 February.

 

KCDC pointed out that community transmission is on-going in China and the cases without a clear epidemiological link are being reported in Japan. Therefore, KCDC will monitor the situation more carefully.
