Updates on COVID-19 in Republic of Korea

○ As of 0:00, 12 July 2020, the total number of confirmed cases is 13,417 (including 1,829 imported cases), of which 12,178 cases have been discharged from isolation. There are 21 new local cases, 23 new imported cases, and 1 new death.

□ The current state* of major local clusters as of today (as of 12:00, 12 July) are as follows:

* The specific figures below may differ from the daily reported statistics (which are based on figures as of 0:00 today) or figures disclosed by local municipalities due to factors such as report timing and differences in the time period considered

○ Related to the cluster from Uijeongbu City, Gyeonggi Province, (former Uijeongbu apartment complex related cases), 1 additional case was confirmed, which is a family member of a confirmed case from fitness center. In total, 31* cases have been confirmed.

* Apartment complex = 9, fitness center = 2, contacts outside of fitness center = 20

○ Related to the door-to-door sales group in Gwangju City, 4 additional cases were confirmed. The new cases are related to the Geumyang Building (1) and the badminton club (3). Badminton club was reclassified under door-to-door sales group related cases in Gwangju city as a result of epidemiological link which was found between Geumyang building cluster and the index case of badminton club at Buk-gu, Gwangju city. In total, 135* cases have been confirmed.

□ As of 0:00, 12 July, 23 there were 23 imported cases, of which, 12 were confirmed at the point of entry, while 11 were confirmed in the community after their arrival and subsequent self-quarantine.

○ The (presumed) location of infection acquisition of the 23 new imported cases are: America (12), Europe (1), and Asia excluding China (10) (Philippines=2; Uzbekistan=5; Pakistan=1; Russia=1; Japan=1).
