Risk factors found through epidemiological investigation include:

- Combination of poor ventilation in on-site service area, inadequate mask wearing (not wearing at all or taking off when talking or singing), and having meals together

- Participating in group activities outside of regular service such as small groups, prayer events, and retreats, and having conversations in close contact

- Attending service despite having symptoms, leading to further transmission to other churches, care facilities, and workplaces

As church-facilitated infections continue to spread in the communities nationwide, KCDC requests all churches to have services in non-face-to-face ways and suspend any in-person gatherings, events, and meals in compliance with the administrative measure.
