KDCA requests managers and staff of healthcare facilities and social welfare facilities to take particular precaution to prevent COVID-19 transmission.

There have been 13 clusters (311 cases) related to travel or social gatherings since August. KDCA asks the public to limit non-essential contact with other people including trying to avoid traveling to hometowns or visiting extended family during the upcoming Chuseok holidays.

* Critical: patients treated with mechanical ventilator, ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation), CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy)

* Severe: patients treated with oxygen mask and high flow oxygen therapy

* ICU treatment is decided based on the need for intensive care based on factors such as clinical condition and presence of any underlying medical condition and may differ from severe and critical case classification criteria. The number of severe/critical cases may not match the number of patients in ICU.
