Epidemiological links have been found for 80.7% of the total cases; 19.3% are either under investigation or sporadic cases. More details on the epidemiological links within each province or city are shown in Table 2. Weekly trend of imported cases by period and region of origin is provided in Figure 1.

From Guro-gu call center in Seoul, 2 additional cases (1 from the 11th floor, 1 contact) were confirmed. The current total is 148 confirmed cases since 8 March. Epidemiological investigation and contact tracing on the newly confirmed cases are underway.

From Bundang Jesaeng Hospital in Gyeonggi Province, 2 additional cases (2 staff in self-quarantine) were confirmed. A total of 42 cases have been confirmed so far. From Hyo Sarang nursing home, 5 cases have been confirmed since 19 March. Residents and staff there are currently under cohort-quarantine.

In Daegu, every person at high-risk facilities is being tested. 87 percent completed testing and 192 (0.8 percent) out of 25,493 were confirmed positive. From Daesil Covalescent Hospital in Dalseong-gun, 54 additional cases were confirmed, which brings the current total to 64. In-patients on 6th and 7th floors are under cohort-quarantine.

In Gyeongbuk Province, 35 cases were confirmed from Seo Convalescent Hospital in Gyeongsan. Epidemiological investigation is underway.

In order to prevent further importation of COVID-19 cases, all incoming travellers from Europe will be tested effective of 0:00, 22 March. Furthermore, even if tested negative, Korean citizens and long-term-stay foreigners should be under self-quarantine for 14 days, and short-term visitors should be under active monitoring. Anyone having respiratory symptoms at the point of entry or epidemiological links with confirmed cases will be quarantined for testing at quarantine station.
