* Figures may change based on findings from ongoing local epidemiological investigation efforts

According to the results the epidemiological investigation of cases and clusters related to door-to-door sales,

- While not wearing or not properly wearing (not worn completely, taken off while conversing) a facemask,

- Promotional halls and experience halls for door-to-door sales had people stay in a closed environment for a long duration of time. Else, in the process of small group information sessions for product presentations and demos that were held within households, people conversed for a long duration in close proximity,

- Some companies engaged in activities that could transfer a considerable amount of droplets, such as singing product promotional songs.

- In addition, people visited public facilities (sauna, religious facilities, restaurants, hair salons) and medical facilities, despite showing symptoms, causing further rapid transmission to the local community.

Door-to-door sales risk transmission because they are characterized by closed environments and multiple visitors in close proximity, coming into contact for a long duration of time. Therefore, middle-aged and senior citizens should not attend events related to door-to-door sales.

- Refrain from small group product information sessions held in households, as they also require conversations held close proximity for a long duration of time, which increases the likelihood of infection.

- In addition, if you show symptoms of COVID-19 after participating in an event or a meeting related to door-to-door sales, cancel all outdoor activities or meetings, and visit a screening center to get tested.

The Central Disease Control Headquarters asked for cooperation on the mandatory guidelines regarding churches that will come into force, today at 6 p.m., and asks that the church goers and staff voluntarily participate and cooperate with the new rules. It was announced that limitations will be lifted for places that strictly follow the Infection Prevention Guidelines.

Starting today at 6 p.m., the Infection Prevention Guidelines for Churches (Appendix 3, in Korean only) that all church goers and staff must follow are as follows:

- For churches’ staff:

Prohibit in-person group activities and events outside the regular church service

Prohibit sharing/providing food and group meals

Check those who enter the church for symptoms, prohibit entry if symptoms are observed

Disinfect the church before and after regular services

- For church goers:

Refrain from chanting and singing during regular service

Do not talk loudly during regular service, including praying or singing in a loud voice

Do not consume food or drink within church facilities

Wear a mask and practice social distancing (2 meter recommended, 1 meter minimum)

In accordance with the Infectious Disease Control and Prevention Act, individuals who violate the above-mentioned guidelines are liable for a fine of up to 3,000,000 KRW and the facility found in violation can be prohibited for public gatherings.

Facilities may be released from the above mandatory requirements if the head of the local government deems it is safe to do so based on the efforts of the facilities and local outbreak situations.
