Trends in prevalence of chronic kidney disease (moderate or severe) among Korean adults, 2008-2017
[Definition] Chronic kidney disease (moderate or severe): MDRD-GFR (glomerular filtration rate) < 60 mL/min/1.73 m2, among those aged 30 years and over
The age-standardized prevalence of Korean adults with moderate or severe chronic kidney disease, aged 30 years and over, was 3.8% in 2008 and 3.0% in 2017, indicating that it remained almost unchanged for the past 10 years. Based on the 2017 data, the prevalence among men (3.4%) was 1.3 fold higher than 2.6% among women (Figure A).
