Trends in prevalence of hypertension among Korean adults aged 30 years and over, 2007-2017

The age-standardized prevalence of hypertension among Korean adults aged 30 years and over increased from 24.5% in 2007 to 26.9% in 2017 by 2.4 percentage points (%p), The prevalence in men increased from 26.8% to 32.3% by 5.5%p, whereas that in women decreased from 21.7% to 21.3% by 0.4%p. There was an decrease of 2.2%p between 2016 and 2017. The 2017 data indicated that men had 1.5 fold higher rate than women (Figure A).
