Prevalence of hypercholesterolemia among Korean adults aged 30 years and over, 2007-2017

The age-standardized prevalence of hypercholesterolemia among Korean adults aged 30 years and over rose to 21.5% in 2017 by an increase of 10.8 percentage points (%p), compared to 10.7% in 2007: for men, 20.0% with an increase of 10.7%p from 9.3%; for women, 22.6% with an increase of 11.1%p from 11.5%). The prevalence of hypercholesterolemia showed an upward pattern in both men and women and nearly double-folded increments for the past decade (Figure A).
