Percentages of seat belt use among Korean adults ≥ 19 years, 2008-2018


Among Korean adults aged 19 years and over, the median proportion of rear seat passengers who wear seat belts had risen from 7.8% in 2014 to 18.2% in 2018 (an increase of 10.4 percentage points). However, the proportion still remained at the low level, relative to the 88.5% of drivers wearing seat belts (Figure A).
