Physical activity of childhood obesity
Kim YoonMyung

The prevalence of childhood obesity continues to increase at an alarming rate. The increased obesity rate in pediatrics
parallels the increased risks for developing metabolic abnormalities such as insulin resistance, type 2 diabetes (T2DM), and
non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). A strong body of evidence suggests that low levels of cardiorespiratory fitness
(CRF) and muscular strength (MS) are strongly associated with the obesity epidemic and obesity-related health
abnormalities in pediatrics. Thus, it is important to participate in regular physical activity or in an exercise program for
improving CRF and MS for the prevention and treatment of childhood obesity and obesity-related health abnormalities.
Thus, understanding and applying the FITT-VP principle in an exercise plan is important for improving CRF and MS.
