  • Close contacts Close contacts are those who had contact width a confirmed or suspected MERS case when symptoms were present. These include individuals who had the following forms of contact widthout wearing a mask for protection: -Stayed within 2m from the case -Stayed in the same foom or space as the case -Came in direct contact width the case's respiratory discharge (after coughing or sneezing, etc.)
  • Casuaal Contacts Casual contacts are those who were in the same space as a suspected or confirmed MERS case and are considered by epidemiological investigators to require monitoring due to the lack of proper protection at the time of suspected contact. Since such contact would have taken place when the confirmed or suspected case was symptomatic, there is a possible risk of infection due to exposure.
