Trend of current smoking rates among Korean adults aged 19 and over, 2007-2016
For the past 10 years, the overall current smoking rate among Korean adults aged 19 and over decreased from 25.3% in 2007 to 23.9% in 2016 (1.4%p decrease): 45.1% to 40.7% among males (4.4%p decease) and 5.3% to 6.4% among females (1.1%p increase). In 2016, the current smoking rate of males was 40.7%, 6.4 times higher than 6.4% of females (Figure A).
