Trends in walking for exercise and muscle-strengthening exercise among Korean adults aged 19 years and over, 2007-2016
Age-standardized rate of people aged 19 years and over who walked for exercise decreased by 6.1%p from 45.7 in 2007 to 39.6% in 2016. Only 4 out of 10 people found to be walking for exercise. However, the rate of people who performed muscle-strengthening exercises declined 1.1%p from 22.0% in 2007 to 20.9% in 2016, indicating that 2 out of 10 people were performing muscle-strengthening exercises (Figure A).
