Trends in undernutrition and overnutrition, 2007-2016
Double burden of malnutrition, a rising health issue, refers that the burden of undernutrition (micronutrient deficiencies, low birth weight, poor nutrition of the elderly and women in of reproductive age, etc), coexists with over nutrition (obesity, noncommunicable diseases, etc). While the prevalence of nutritional deficiency was decreased, that of excess intake of energy / fat was increased (Figure A).
