International comparison of life expectancy at birth, 2016
According to the reports of WHO (Word Health Organization), average life expectancy of the global population was 72.0 years in 2016. South Korea had the second highest life expectancy of 82.7 years in East Asia, preceded by Japan with 84.2 years (Figure A).
