Trends in prevalence of obesity among Korean adults, 2007-2016
From 2007 to 2016, age-standardized prevalence rate of obesity among Korean adults aged 19 years and over increased 6.1%p from 31.7% to 34.8%. Among men, the rate increased 3.1%p from 36.2% to 42.3%. For women, the rate remained more or less constant from 26.3% to 26.4%. Based on the 2016, the prevalence rate was 1.6-fold higher for men than women (Figure A).
