Trends in prevalence of diabetes among Korean adults aged 30 years and over, 2007-2016

The age-standardized prevalence of diabetes among adults aged 30 years and over increased 1.8%p, from 9.5% in 2007 to 11.3% in 2016 (1.1%p in men, from 11.8% to 12.9% and 2.4%p in women, from 7.2% to 9.6%). In 2016, the percentage of men (12.9%) was 1.3 times higher than that of women (9.6%), indicating that one out of 10 adults aged 30 years and over had diabetes (Figure A).
