KDCA discussed South Korea’s national quarantine process with the Ministry of Health of Chile

The Delegations from the Ministry of Health of Chile visited(24.03.26) the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA) to discuss South Korea’s national quarantine process using Information and Communication Technology (ICT). Maria J. Letelier Ruize (Director, Digital Healthcare Department) and Jorge Herrera (Director, Information and Communication Department) were appointed as one of the Delegations.


The KDCA shared experiences of digital Point-of-Entry quarantine system and COOV mobile app (electronic certificate of vaccination) that were utilized during the COVID-19. The Chilean Delegations have expressed interest of KDCA’s digitization of infectious disease related information and its use of mobile app to make it more accessible to the public.


The bilateral meeting between Chile and South Korea was a milestone to share experiences and promote technical cooperation with South American countries on infectious disease preparedness and response in the future.
