KDCA Lifts Entry Restriction on Inbound Travellers from Abroad

An entry restriction on travellers from Vietnam, Myanmar, and Ukraine will be lifted starting from 1st April 2022.

Osong, 31st March 2022 – The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA) has announced on 31st March 2022 that it will lift an entry restriction on travellers coming from Vietnam, Myanmar, and Ukraine, starting from 1st April. From 21st until 31st March, arrivals from Myanmar, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, and Pakistan had to be put into quarantine, even though they had been fully vaccinated.

The KDCA has made the decision after taking into account the COVID-19 situations of those countries such as the risk levels of COVID-19 indicators and the current status of imported confirmed cases.

Commissioner Jeong Eun-kyeong said: “We will continue monitoring the risk levels of COVID-19 indicators of overseas countries such as the detection of novel variants of concern. And this way, which countries will be included in the quarantine exemption will be decided in a more flexible way.”
