In 2016, KCDC underwent organizational restructuring by changing the General Affairs Department to the Planning and Coordination Department and made efforts to operate a call center by establishing an Administration and an Office of Communication.
In its approximately 70-year history since Korea’s liberation, KCDC, with Osong Biovalley as momentum for a new beginning, has been acquiring national-level medical and bioscience knowledge as resources and leading national disease control studies in response to future environmental changes, such as climate change. In addition, it pioneers global public health studies by promoting close international cooperation and exchanges.
In 2016, KCDC restructured its organization by changing the General Affairs Department to the Planning and Coordination Department and established an Administration Team and an Office of Communication in order to strengthen cooperation among its subsidiary centers and improve its information competencies. At the same time, KCDC is dedicating the utmost efforts to overcoming the crisis of infectious diseases at an earlier phase by swiftly and consistently providing correct information to the public in times of crisis.
Perform education and training of officers belonging to KCDC

Take charge of payrolls and provide welfare of employees
Control the security of documents, official seal, and official seal register
Control the form of management, evaluation, standards, etc. of records

Carry out planning for national R&D projects and oversee performance management
Supervise the support secretariat for the Government-wide R&D Committee on Infectious Diseases
Prepare and settle an R&D budget for Korea NIH
Review, evaluate, and manage research projects (intramural and extramural research)
Formulate and amend the regulation and guidelines on Korea NIH’s research
Carry out international cooperation affairs of Korea NIH
Carry out cooperation affairs among Korea NIH, industry, and academia as well as internal and external cooperation affairs (university-institute program, internship program, facility tour, volunteering activities, etc.)
Operate education and training programs for the employees of Korea NIH
