Global Outbreak Alert and Response Network (GOARN)

Global Outbreak Alert and Response Network (GOARN) is an inter-agency collaborative network established by the World Health Organization (WHO) to respond rapidly to global disease outbreaks. GHSCO also continues to engage in the GOARN activities to support and coordinate the rapid mobilization of experts in response to international outbreaks.

To actively strengthen Korea’s engagement in the GOARN, efforts in 2025 will focus on expanding the national expert pool – particularly in the areas of infection prevention and control, case management, and risk communication. In addition, GHSCO aims to host a Tier 1.5 training in collaboration with its partner institutions in Korea.

Joint External Evaluation (JEE)

International Health Regulations (2005) Joint External Evaluation (JEE) is a voluntary, collaborative, multisectoral process to assess country capacities to prevent, detect, and rapidly respond to public health risks whether occurring naturally or due to deliberate or accidental events. The JEE helps counties identify the most critical gaps within their human and animal health systems in order to prioritize opportunities for enhanced preparedness and response.

Global Health Security Agenda (GHSA)

Global Health Security Agenda (GHSA) is a collaborative, multisectoral network that aims to enhance global health security and accelerate implementation of the International Health Regulations (IHR) (2005). To enhance and sustain technical, financial, and political support for addressing global gaps in infectious diseases response, GHSCO coordinates global preparedness and response efforts for future pandemics, with support from global health security community.
