GHSA represents a significant outcome of global efforts to enhance health security capacity. GHSCO supports its members by coordinating and activating GHSA Action Packages, which are the core of the GHSA’s mission. The office also manages the progress and outcomes of these initiatives, ensuring they are publicly accessible and impactful.

Participation in GHSA Steering Group Meetings

To enhance pandemic preparedness, the Chair of GHSA leads the Steering Group Meetings, with contributions from the GHSA community to support the achievement of GHSA objectives. GHSCO represents the ROK in the GHSA community, facilitating communication among its members. By sharing best practices and resources, and supporting appropriate international engagements, GHSCO helps leverage efforts toward achieving GHSA’s overarching goals. Also, the GHSA community contributes to the steering group meetings to support the achievement of the GHSA objectives.

• Meeting (3rd January, 2024): Discussion on the GHSA 2028 Framework, presentation on the launch of GHSCO, transfer of the Chair role from Pakistan to Ethiopia, sharing of USAID’s GHSA Survey result, Saudi Arabia’s 2024 activity plan
• Meeting (5th September, 2024): Discussion on the GHSA Terms of Reference and hosting a Global Ministerial Meeting, GHSA 2025 leadership role
• Meeting (15th January, 2025): Discussion on GHSA Expression of Interest, the implementation Plan for the Action Plan, plan for Global Ministerial Meeting
