- A nationally approved statistics project (Approval No. 117088) that establishes an investigation and surveillance system for the occurrence of acute cardiac arrest, survival outcomes, and treatment details, to be used as evidence for establishing public health policies related to acute cardiac arrest and to improve the survival rate from acute cardiac arrest

Survey Target
- All acute cardiac arrest* patients transported from 119 emergency medical services to medical institutions * Patients whose main symptom is recorded as “cardiac arrest” or “respiratory arrest” in the emergency medical service activity log, for whom “CPR” is recorded as a provided treatment, or for whom a “Detailed Emergency Treatment Status Form for Cardiopulmonary Arrest Patients” was completed
Survey Method
- Specialized surveyors visit the medical institutions to which acute cardiac arrest patients were transported to conduct a medical record investigation.

Survey Content
- Consists of a total of 47 items (sociodemographic information, occurrence information (e.g., whether witnessed, bystander CPR, place and activity), medical and treatment information, etc.).
Distribution and Utilization of Results
- Disclosure of statistical books and raw data through linkage with KOSIS and the National Injury Information Portal https://www.kdca.go.kr/injury
- Utilized as basic data for academic research in fields related to acute cardiac arrest, national health promotion, and public health and medical policies.
- Utilized as basic data for the development of projects and educational materials related to CPR.
