What is a high-risk pathogen?
- Infectious disease-causing pathogens that can be used as bioweapons or can pose a serious risk to public health if they are released externally due to accidents, etc.
- Designated high-risk pathogens are included in national safety management regardless of toxin production, pathogenicity, or certain genetic deficiencies (excluding pathogens included in vaccines that have been commercialized as pharmaceutical products).
