What is a Chronic Disease?

The main types of non-communicable diseases are cardiovascular diseases (like heart attacks and stroke), cancers, chronic respiratory diseases (such as COPD and asthma) and diabetes.
- (US CDC [Centers for Disease Control and Prevention]) Chronic diseases are defined broadly as conditions that last 1 year or more and require ongoing medical attention or limit activities of daily living, or both.

Project Introduction
- Produces statistics such as the incidence and mortality rates of myocardial infarction and stroke (Cerebrovascular and Cardiovascular Disease Incidence Statistics), and for representative health indicators for major chronic diseases, provides the current status after collecting data that utilizes nationally approved statistics, press releases, and major research results from related organizations.
