World AIDS Day

In January 1988, at the World Health Ministers’ Conference held in London, the participating 148 countries adopted the "London Declaration" emphasizing the exchange of information, education and awareness, and respect for human rights for the prevention of AIDS, establishing December 1 as World AIDS Day globally. The red ribbon is a symbol of AIDS that represents the protection and support of the human rights of people living with HIV and those with AIDS, expressing understanding for them and serving as a sign of support for all individuals working for and with them. To correct the negative perceptions and misunderstandings about HIV/AIDS, which are steadily increasing in the country, we aim to provide accurate information through public participation and enhance prevention and treatment effectiveness through regular screenings.

Through a nationwide campaign, we aim to correct misinformation and negative perceptions about HIV/AIDS, deliver accurate information, and raise awareness about the importance of prevention and management of AIDS.
