The KBN is composed of the NBK under the NIH, 17 Regional Biobanks located in university hospitals, and 2 KBN-Collaborative Biobanks. The KBN collects and stores human bioresources of participants in several cohorts and outpatients. It has also acquired national human bioresources through natural cooperation between biobanks. These resources are managed systematically and provided to Korea-based researchers.
